But somewhere between discovering hidden trails, stumbling upon a grazing deer, and realizing I’d walked way farther than planned, I fell head over hiking boots in love with this place.

    Also located here is Annie’s Cafe, a cozy spot serving a wide selection of pastries, salads, coffee, hot meals, and ice cream.
  • Reserved Group Shelter: The Glennfield Day Use Area offers rentable group shelters for $90 per day.These shelters come equipped with power outlets, washrooms, water, and dedicated parking facilities.

How to Get to Fish Creek Provincial Park

By car: drive to Bow Trail and take the Crowchild Trail ramp. Exit toward Glenmore and merge onto AB-8 West. Take the Sarcee exit, then the Tsuut’ina Trail ramp. 

Exit at 17, merge onto Buffalo Run Boulevard, and at the roundabout, take the second exit onto 130 Avenue SW. Finally, turn right onto Woodpath Road SW.

By public transit: take the 201 bus at EB 3 Street SW Station. Get off at Anderson Station and take the 56 bus to WB Woodfield RD. From there, the park is a 5-minute walk away.

The octopus and bone marrow are absolute must-tries, but the showstopper for us was the Alberta beef tenderloin—so tender and flavorful, it practically melted under the knife. Easily a 10/10 experience.

Set in a historic ranch house amidst Fish Creek Park’s grassy plains, it’s the perfect spot for a memorable meal. Afterward, wander the grounds and dive into the story of its original owner—it’s the ideal way to end the evening.

If you’re a beginner, the Bebo Grove Stormwater Pond loop is a great way to ease into the park’s beauty, offering a perfect introduction to the southwest. For a short, easy hike, the Shannon Terrace Loop is just 3 km and a lovely option.

Right past Annie’s Café, you’ll find the Bow Valley Ranch to Glennfield Trail—flat, open, and perfect for soaking in the expansive grasslands and meadows. Keep an eye out for wildlife like birds, deer, and coyotes!

For a peaceful hike, the Mallard Point to Bankside loop is a calming journey through groves, along the creek, and by the Bow River, with both paved and gravel paths to explore.
