With a refreshing blend of classical and contemporary ballet, this version of The Wizard of Oz breathes new life into the story we all grew up with.
It’s also a stunning visual journey with creative costumes, elaborate sets, and powerful performances that feel both familiar and entirely new.
At its core, the story remains pretty much the same. Dorothy’s journey down the yellow brick road introduces her to new friends, each seeking help from the Wizard to overcome their own personal flaws.
Along the way, they realize that the strength they needed was within themselves. It’s a wonderful journey about friendship built on empathy, loyalty, and trust—themes that resonate just as deeply today.

Alberta Ballet’s The Wizard of Oz will be held at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium at 7:30 PM each night. On the final day, Saturday, March 15, they will have two shows, including a 2 PM performance.
